Acclaimed Director Todd Field Announces New Project

U5KT594NV6PA In 2006, Todd Field’s sophomore feature, Little Children was released, and was hailed as a modern masterpiece from film critics and art-house audiences alike. Director Todd Field has gained a reputation as one of the finest filmmakers since Stanley Kubrick, and film buffs have been anticipating his next feature for seven years now.

The wait is finally over, as Todd Field has signed on to write, produce, and direct an adaptation of Jess Walter’s best-selling novel, Beautiful Ruins. The film is set to be filmed in Rome, and centers on the lives of several actors, Hollywood types, and an innkeeper against the backdrop of Italy in the sixties.

With Todd Field at the helm, Beautiful Ruins is certain to be a meticulously crafted work of art, much like his previous films. Field is also producing another film, Hold On To Me, starring Carey Mulligan and Robert Pattinson. He is also set to direct yet another film, starring Christian Bale, entitled The Creed of Violence.

Todd Field is also an actor, with memorable supporting roles in Twister and Stanley Kubrick’s final film, Eyes Wide Shut.
