Much like the 2011 film, Midnight in Paris, Woody Allen has scored another hit with both critics and audiences alike with Blue Jasmine, starring Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin.
Blue Jasmine has already earned $10 million dollars at the box office, and as a result, Sony Pictures Classics has expanded the release to 1,200 theatres. To date, this is the widest release for a Woody Allen film. Blue Jasmine marks the director’s 44th film, and is the sixth that has been released under Sony Pictures Classics. It has already gained early Oscar buzz for Blanchett’s performance as a New York socialite.
