Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt can finally add the title of director to his already impressive resume, and apparently, this is just fine with the critics. According to RottenTomatoes.com, the film has received a “fresh” rating and many are predicting that it will be a hit with audiences, as well.
Levitt’s directorial debut, entitled Don Jon, tells the tale of a young man who is struggling with a porn addiction. He befriends a headstrong young lady – played by Scarlett Johansson – who disapproves of his fondness for pornography and loves corny romantic films. Both characters have unrealistic expectations of modern relationships, as a result of their exposure to various forms of media. The film makes an attempt to explore this dilemma.
Don Jon gets a wide release in theatres this Friday.
