Here it is. The leaves are changing, the pumpkins are carved, and Party City is getting business. It’s October!
At CultureMass, we love October. Horror films are dismissed and rejected by the majority of “sophisticated” critics for being cheesy, ridiculous, pandering, and predictable. Not us. We respect them as much as we respect Gaspar Noe dramas and Downton Abbey.
To prove it, the month of October will be a bloodbath of horror and halloween articles ranging from books and movies to scientific discoveries. Talking Cinema podcast and The Master Shot video series will have dedicated October episodes based completely around horror and horror culture.
Cameron Cook has been obsessed with, and haunted by, films of all kinds ever since that weird, singing fish jumped out of that pond in The Brave Little Toaster. Now he's all grown up, educated in the ancient art of writing and telling stories, and he's still wondering whose idea that fish was. What he does know is how to find a good writer, and he's spent his life working his way toward CultureMass.
