Guilt Pile Podcast EP16 – Sweet Serial Subscriptions

The Guilt Pile Podcast is a weekly discussion formed around our seemingly endless backlog of video games that expands with each new release. We know we aren’t the only ones who have many games piled up, begging to be played. We hope to stimulate some desire in tackling this (nearly) impossible task while we talk about games and industry topics both new and old.

This week the Guilt Pile has a new guest by the name of Nick “Face-For-Radio” Hahneman who along with hosts Artimus and Steve discuss a growing gaming world trend in the form of season passes and subscription models. We bring up season passes, good and bad DLC, as well as services such as PlayStation Plus and what any of these may become in the future. We also talk about three amazing games

  • Saints Row 3 (Discussed Video Below)
  • The Wolf Among Us
  • Bioshock Infinite

Our discussions both on the games and the topic were so good that our episode this week is a whopping 1 hour and 56 minutes! Because it is so big, we have taken the topic discussion (48 minutes on its own) and split it into a separate Podcast. The above is the full episode, but here is the abbreviated topic discussion.

Enjoy!

I am a technophile and amateur space archaeologist who has been playing games for longer than I can remember. My fuel is an unwavering passion for the escape and immersion only video games offer. I avoid subscribing to any one specific genre and instead look for enjoyment in all that games have to offer. Whether it's nostalgia in Halo, competitive rivalry in Mario Kart, winning strategies in Civilization, living a fantasy in Mass Effect, or anywhere in-between; if there is fun to be had I will surely find it. Go Leafs!
